THE
REGION OF STRAZNICE – THE REGION OF WINE, FOLKLORE AND ORCHIDS
Welcome to the region of good wine, good food, live folklore and beautiful
countryside. The region of Straznice is located at the border of the Czech
and Slovak Republics. It is a bunch of ten villages /Sudomerice, Petrov,
Strážnice, Radějov, Tvarožná Lhota, Kněždub, Tasov, Hroznová Lhota,
Kozojídky and Žeraviny / spread in a various landscape between the Morava
river and the White Carpathians.

Folklore of this micro region involving mainly folk songs, folk dances and
flush customs is specific. The region of Straznice
also produces wine of high quality coming especially from the vineyards at
the foothills of the White Carpathians. There are a lot of forest fruits and
mushrooms all around. The area is rich in rare animal and flower species, as
it is a part of the biosphere UNESCO-reserve and the network NATURA 2000. |
